Cheryl is an amazing manager & very friendly! Thank you! --- I’m updating my review now that I’ve completed a full move-in and move-out experience. At check-in, before I had even seen the unit, I was coached into leaving a 5-star review, which I did for the location because of Cheryl’s friendly demeanor. However, I’m revising this to 3 stars. Once inside the unit, there were significant issues. The ceiling appeared to be deteriorating, and the light switch was not easily reachable. While the manager was friendly and professional, I experienced problems with the agreed-upon pricing after move-in and the overall condition of the unit. The biggest issue came at move-out: rent is not prorated. Being charged a full month’s rent when ready to move out on the 2nd of the month for example feels unfair and greedy. Because of this policy alone, my experience realistically deserves closer to 2 stars. Additionally, the gate was frequently left open. Although I still entered my code so my access was time-stamped, anyone could walk or drive onto the property, which increases the risk of theft. Overall, while staff professionalism was appreciated and the monthly rent issue was rectified, the unit condition, security concerns, and lack of prorated rent made this a disappointing experience.

Cheryl is just such an amazing person. I was so glad that my fiancé and I were able to meet with her. She mad the whole experience seamless.
Buyer Beware – Poor Customer Service I strongly recommend finding a self-storage facility other than Devon Self Storage in Williamsburg. The employee named Cheryl (or however she spells/pronounces it) was extremely rude and uncooperative. After I cleared out my unit, she would not take the minute and a half required to walk over and visually confirm that the unit was clean while I was still on site. Instead, she simply said, “If it’s clean, we’ll send you an invoice.” She could not be bothered to get out of her chair to verify the condition of the unit before closing it out. This level of customer service is unacceptable and frankly disgusting. There was no professionalism, no courtesy, and no willingness to help. Do yourself a favor and choose a storage facility with staff who actually value their customers. You will thank me later.
Absolute nicest lady to work with. Made the experience to rent a unit so easy and would highly recommend her.
