I am writing to formally document a series of issues I have experienced at your 8550 Sudley Road Manassas, VA location, which I believe reflect deceptive business practices and a failure to provide services paid for under the rental agreement. 1. Locked Doors During Posted Business Hours: On multiple occasions—approximately 75% of my visits—the facility has been locked during the posted business hours. I recently went to the property and, once again, could not access the office because the doors were locked. This raises serious concerns about the accuracy of your stated operating hours. 2. Inability to Access Assistance On-Site: The repeated inability to speak with a property manager during normal business hours directly interferes with my ability to conduct business. I pay over $300/month for this unit and expect the location to be staffed as advertised. 3. Unprofessional Conduct by Phone Support: When I contacted escalation support, a supervisor named Steve hung up on me after I asked a straightforward question about whether your rotating-manager model is disclosed in the rental agreement. This was clearly intentional and completely unacceptable. 4. Conflicting and Inaccurate Information from Staff: When I called the local number earlier, a representative named Tiffany told me I needed to schedule an appointment to see a property manager and that Public Storage does not cut locks. This information was proven false when escalation support later told me they could cut my lock the next day. The inconsistency suggests a lack of staff training and accountability. 5. Failure to Return Promised Calls: I was told that a District Manager would contact me. I am still waiting for that call. 6. Misrepresentation of Business Practices: When I asked another escalation supervisor whether this “rotating manager / unmanned location for hours at a time” model was standard, he stated that Public Storage has operated this way for the past four years. This is concerning because: • This staffing model is not disclosed in the rental agreement. • It contradicts your posted business hours. • It results in customers arriving at a locked facility during normal business hours with no signage or explanation. This pattern suggests a staffing shortage and a misrepresentation of availability that rises to the level of deceptive business practices. Given the monthly cost I have been paying for nearly two years, the lack of transparency, inaccessibility, and poor customer service are unacceptable. Because these issues have not been addressed and no manager has reached out as promised, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Attorney General of the Commonwealth of Virginia for further review of your business practices. Great ..!!! Rep. At counter was extremely helpful with all my questions. She even helped with on line app. and hold a unit because I forgot my seeing I glasses. Very refreshing to have the extra help from customer service.
