CubeSmart Self Storage - Arlington - 6875 Langston Boulevard

I have been a CubeSmart customer, on and off, since 2015, and for many years I had very positive experiences with the CubeSmart at 6875 Langston Boulevard, Virginia. In fact, I recommended this facility to others because of the helpful staff, the cleanliness, and the overall sense of safety. However, when we returned in October 2025 after moving, I immediately noticed a clear decline in the condition of the property. The cleanliness and maintenance were no longer at the standard I had known before. Some lights were not working, creating dark areas, especially near the unit we were assigned. The walls were visibly damaged and badly in need of repainting or repair. There was trash left on the floors, apparently from other users, and the bathrooms were very dirty. Then, in January 2026, the monthly price for our 5x10 unit increased by about $50 without prior notice. Our rent went up to $236 per month. I understand that the contract states that prices may change, but an increase of roughly 27% feels excessive, especially given the decline in maintenance and cleanliness. Because of this, I decided to close the account and move out. I left the unit open, empty, and clean, and I personally gave notice to the staff member in charge one day before the monthly deadline. Despite that, two days later we were charged for the next month’s rent for a unit we had already closed. This was deeply disappointing. What used to be a facility I trusted and recommended became a frustrating and upsetting experience. I am especially disappointed by the lack of upkeep, the steep rent increase, and being charged after properly vacating the unit.

UPDATE: I'm reducing my review to 1 star-- Cubesmart responded to my review below saying that I should reach out to them. I reached out to them immediately, and nearly 2 weeks later they still haven't responded. Their reply to my review makes it look like they are responsive... when in reality they aren't. --- So disappointed with this facility. I'm giving 2 stars because when I have reached employees by phone they have been kind and helpful. On my move in day, I was told I could arrive at 9:30am to register and get into the storage unit. No one was at the facility when I arrived (and no sign saying they stepped away), and after calling multiple times and leaving messages I was unable to get in touch anyone at the store. It has been over 40 minutes of trying to access the store, and now the movers are waiting (and I'm paying them by the hour). I had to send the movers to a different drop off point so that I didn't have to pay them to wait for someone at CubeSmart to show up. This made an already stressful move even more stressful.

I recently had a fantastic experience with CubeSmart. The customer service I received was truly outstanding, and I have to give a special shout-out to the managers at this location. They were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, making the entire rental process smooth and stress-free. They took the time to answer all my questions and helped me find the perfect storage unit for my needs. The facility itself is clean and well-maintained, but it's the friendly and professional staff that truly makes the difference. I highly recommend CubeSmart to anyone looking for storage!

Experience here has been great, which I never expected to say about storage units. Facility is very clean. Austin is very helpful and nice. We missed him once, but as long as you call ahead he will be there for you. Would recommend to anyone.
