Public Storage is the definition of corporate greed. I moved out of my unit the morning of 12/1 and they still charged me for the entire month of December. No proration. No partial refund. Not even a goodwill discount. Just a flat “too bad.” I rented here for 2.5 years, paid them well over $10,000, never missed a payment, and was never late once. Apparently, loyalty and reliability mean absolutely nothing to this company. When I tried to escalate the issue, I was told I was not allowed to speak to anyone higher up and that everything had to go through the property manager. To her credit, she did try to get approval for a discount—but corporate flatly refused. This is not a customer-focused company. It’s a rigid, greedy operation that hides behind policies and refuses to treat long-term customers fairly or reasonably. I will never rent from Public Storage again, and discourage anyone from doing so. There are plenty of storage companies out there—choose one that actually values its customers. UPDATE: The day after I posted this review I received a call from the district manager, and she agreed to refund the unnecessary rent payment for December. Because of this, I've changed my review from a 1 star to a 2 star. They could have earned a 5 star review if it didn't take posting a bad review to get their attention. They need to do better before things get to this point. If I could give the onsite manager a separate review, it would be 5 stars, as she was great and maintains a clean and secure facility. Just be warned that if you decide to give them your business, plan your move out carefully!

Went to OHSU for 2 weeks, curently battling cancer, got out and found out my unit is going up for auction soon. I am 12 days late. Yes only 12 days... Do not rent here. If anything happens they will lock you out and get rid of your stuff. I have everything in there, i was unable to pay (not refusing to pay) I moved here from Indiana and my stuff is threatened. Greed.

This place is filthy and the customer service is zero stars. It smells like rodents and dust, dirt, and pine needles get into the units because the facility is beyond not modern and is somewhere BigFoot would rent from. I lost my jacket, keys, wallet, and cellphone on the TriMet because Portland area folk like to steal and despite explaining my situation to the cavewoman that works here she decided to write me up to corporate for attempting to cut MY lock that I paid for in order to get back into MY unit so I could get my work equipment . I had to cancel work with my clients all that week because I had no access to my work equipment and had to try and explain the situation to them. I had to wait for my new debit card which then allowed me to get back into my storage unit once I was able to pay for a replacement ID from the DMV because the person that works here refused to cut my lock unless I had my ID despite the fact I came here weekly so she definitely knew who I was, they already had my ID on file from when I signed into a contract in the beginning. I could identify literally everything that was in the storage unit without even seeing it. It was a total nightmare of a situation and cost me a half months income and the person that works here could have cared less and threatened to call the police when I brought a file from Ace Hardware to cut MY lock off. She did not care at all about my situation. It was one of those grey areas in life where you get the short end of the straw and it 100% did not have to be that way. I work all up and down the west coast and even into the Midwest states. I will NEVER rent from a Public Storage location ever again.
