I have been using Cherokee storage over the past few years, and each year I reach out last minute or needing a quick turnaround and Darlene at the Wilmington location is amazingly helpful. This most recent year (2024) I reached out last minute and expected they didn't have any openings, but Darlene offered to take my information and put me on a waiting list, sure enough a spot came available and she reached out. I can't speak highly enough of the support and assistance Darlene continues to provide....Thank you very much, sincerely

I rented a storage unit for almost 2 years from here. It has a gated entrance and cameras so I always felt safe anytime day or night. The lady in the office was always nice and friendly. She addressed any issue or request right away and kept the facility very clean. If I needed a unit again, this would be the first place I would go.

If I could go lower than one star I would. This place is a nightmare. Had a unit when they first opened for a total of a month and it got robbed for thousands of dollars. The three other renters were robbed as well at the time. Sheriffs came out and took a report. They didn’t have cameras installed or a locking gate like they promised they would when we signed our lease. They replaced nothing. Didn’t apologize. Talked to the manager and she said since we didn’t have the insurance plan we are out of luck but she offered free rent the next month like I would even keep what little of my stuff was left there any longer. Found a dead mouse in my unit and my blankets and pillows and baby clothes were shredded by said mouse. Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Lost over $10,000 worth of my stuff due to their neglagence.

If I could give a zero i would. I was sent a letter on the third of November that I had 4 days to pay my bill. On the 7 at 9:00 am my things where sold. By law that is not 4 days. Not one letter was sent to my home., not one phone call. When we try to talk to her about this matter she hangs up on us. I guess I will get a lawyer.

Not secure!!! My enclosed trailer was ripped off from here a week ago. Some guys drove up cut the gate open and then went straight for my trailer and stole it. Cameras showed the truck but not the license plate. I’d expect cameras in a new facility like this to be able to do a much better job. I’d also expect some sort of alarm that would go off when the gate is slid open. I’d also expect a call from the owner afterwards considering we lost over 20 grand in equipment. The the place is a mud pit. Wear boots when it’s wet and expect to wash your truck after leaving. Every time I was there I mentioned how the owner needed to bring in way more gravel. And when it’s dry the weeds grow around your trailer. I’ll keep it at my own place next time(after hours of dealing with insurance companies hoping to get 75% of our money back for everything we lost)
