James CloughRented a 10x10 unit in September. The kid who helped us at this location told us the rate was “locked in” and would not go up. 3 months later an extra $90 a month. Of course I didn’t see in the fine print of the contract that rent can go up at any time within 30 days notice. That notice? They sent it in the mail. Every other notification is via email. If you were $1 short paying believe me you’d get emails, texts, smoke signals, carrier pigeons. When they’re raising their rates on you, they conveniently only send out a small postcard that resembles junk mail in the hopes you don’t notice until months later. A completely predatory and unethical business practice. Preying on people with no other options is truly wrong. I hope I never need to store anything ever again because I will dump all my belongings in the ocean before I use this place.
Kai Lused to use the Public Storage in Brighton. Then I moved to the Malden area and started using a Public Storage there. After a while, though, the price went from $100 to $250, and I got sick of it. I remembered that the guy from the Brighton location told me he would start working at this location—he was nice—so I signed up here. Honestly, it’s a good location, but it’s quite annoying sometimes. Parking is limited. You have to enter a code to get in, then enter another code to access the “lobby.” There’s even another keypad next to the elevator—thank God they don’t make you enter a code for that too. The bathrooms are locked, and you have to find someone to unlock the door for you. At least twice, I had an emergency and couldn’t find anyone, so I had to run to TJ Maxx or Trader Joe’s to use their bathrooms. What I dislike the most is their motion sensor lights. After a short while, the lights turn off, and you have to step out of your unit to trigger the sensor again. Hopefully, they don’t raise the prices too quickly.
Meryl WangHad a great experience at public storage! The facility, lock and key was ready upon move in. Unit is bright, clean and air conditioned. Move-out was smooth as well. Want to give a big kudos to the manager at this location. Michael was friendly, patient, and very responsive during business hours.
