Great customer service. 24 hour access. You can book online without talking to anyone if you want. Reminder billing emails are sent so no surprises. Clean units. Reasonable price. Lock provided (at least on the 10x10 unit I rented). My work schedule is unpredictable and I was on a tight budget. I had a moving truck filled with my belongings and no idea where I was moving to. While big name storage facilities had promotions like "get 1 month free" or really low rates on the first month, I knew those rates wouldn't hold if I only did a 1 month rental. Also, a lot of facilities were closed, so I couldn't call to confirm pricing. The Hometown Express website was straight forward. Pick unit size, pay online, load in whenever you want. I did end up calling since the website mentions a specific type of lock. When I called (7:30pm on a Sunday), my call was answered and I was told the lock was provided. I also asked about lighting since I knew I was in for an almost 2 hour drive to storage. This was the only drawback for me. Unloading at almost 10pm at night in a remote area, left me longing for more lights. The person I spoke to was upfront (lighting currently limited, plenty of security cameras). It's no frills. Storage units are outdoors. ground is gravel, but the units themselves have raised concrete which was a relief since this meant I wouldn't have to stress about flooding during normal winter weather. I canceled about a week later since I had finally signed a lease on a new place. Online cancellation process was easy. They do send an automated reminder about billing so when I received that I called to make sure they received my cancellation request. 5 minutes later I received a confirmation email that my account was closed.

Don't buy storage unit auctions from them. Unit was staged BUYERS BEWARE... They take junk out of other units and stage it in the one they're selling in attempt to make more money. None of the items in the unit were working or in useable condition. Everything was moldy and full of spider webs. They put the "high dollar" items in clear sight but they were all garbage. Not garbage because they're cheap items, but actual garbage...

Rented a unit and didnt need it. wont give me my money bag. Said because of the website marketing I can't. So lost out on $50. Will definitely NEVER rent again
