I have been renting storage units for nearly 20 years and have never encountered such a troubling experience as at this facility. While the storage units themselves are acceptable, the management and security practices are severely lacking. The facility is poorly lit at night, often pitch-black, with only one large light and unreliable motion-sensor lights that frequently don’t work. Despite reporting these issues, no corrective action was taken. Security is also inadequate. The chain-link fence has a missing bar at the bottom, which is supposed to secure it and prevent unauthorized access, making it easy to bypass. Additionally, there is an unlocked pedestrian door that remains open at all times, further compromising security. Management’s office hours are limited to just three days a week, leaving the facility inaccessible at times and creating significant inconvenience. During my recent experience, I repeatedly stressed my medical limitations due to a major surgery that did not go well, resulting in a nearly three-week hospitalization in the ICU. Despite informing management of this at the time of signing the lease, they insisted that I must be present whenever anyone was helping me move, making the process even more difficult. Management was unfair and unreasonable in demanding that I vacate the unit by the day after Christmas, despite having paid through the end of the month. The eviction was based on items left outside my unit, which I promptly removed as soon as I was aware of them. Despite my compliance, I was unfairly denied access to my belongings and threatened with disposal of my possessions. Additionally, I did not receive any refund for the prepaid rent, which added to the financial burden. Overall, this experience was marked by poor communication, a lack of compassion for my health, and unreasonable demands. I hope that corporate ownership will review these practices and ensure that future tenants are treated with fairness and respect. I strongly advise potential renters to read the lease carefully and be aware that management discretion is applied very strictly here.

I have had a great experience renting a storage unit from Angola Hometown Storage. I had to take over the unit when my brother passed away. Adding me to the unit, in his final days, was seamless and Candi went above and beyond to communicate with him and make it possible. Since then, she has assisted me on multiple occasions. The property is always clean and feels very safe. I would highly recommend this business to anyone needing a storage unit!

​I’m posting this as someone who personally witnessed how a tenant was treated at this facility. I assisted a friend who rents a unit here and observed management give extremely short notice to vacate during the holidays, in severe winter weather, while knowing the tenant was recovering from a major surgery and had significant physical limitations. Despite the tenant actively accessing the unit, removing belongings, and correcting any issues immediately, management repeatedly threatened lockout and disposal of property rather than working cooperatively toward a reasonable solution. I personally observed my friend making good-faith efforts to comply, including late-evening visits within posted access hours to retrieve items safely. The overall tone from management appeared unnecessarily aggressive and inflexible, especially given the circumstances. I understand facilities have rules, but based on what I witnessed, this situation lacked basic fairness and compassion. I would strongly encourage prospective renters to read the lease carefully and be aware that management discretion at this location appears to be applied very strictly, even in situations involving health and safety concerns.

I’m writing this review as someone who personally witnessed how my girlfriend was treated as a tenant at this facility. I was present during multiple interactions and visits while she was actively trying to comply with management’s demands to remove her belongings. Despite knowing she had recently undergone major surgery with serious complications and was physically limited, management gave her extremely short notice to vacate during the holidays and in severe winter weather. I personally observed her making repeated good-faith efforts to access the unit within posted hours, move items, and comply with rules. Even so, management communication consistently focused on threats of lockout and disposal of her property rather than working toward a reasonable or humane solution. Minor issues that were corrected immediately were used as justification for escalating the situation instead of de-escalating it. Based on what I witnessed firsthand, the way this was handled felt unnecessarily aggressive and lacking in basic compassion. I would strongly encourage anyone considering renting here to read the lease very carefully and understand that management discretion at this location appears to be enforced with little flexibility, even in circumstances involving medical hardship and safety concerns.

Called and made reservations to rent for 3 months and paid. And then got emailed receipt. They charged me for jan and I wasn't even there !!! Then after contract was signed was told have to pay extra for insurance. Would not recommend
