Won an auction for a storage unit here.On my wife’s birthday(it was supposed to be less than an hour work) But first it took us 35 min to settle the payment when it usually takes 5. After cleaning it fully and doing what is agreed on, they refused to give my $200 deposit back, by saying that the payment for the storage doesn’t show up on their end (Even though card went through, on their end they got a receipt and storage showed as paid. It wasn’t enough for them, they said we are going to deduct the payment for the storage auction from my deposit ($62.25)cash even though I already paid that with my card and IF the transaction doesn’t fall off, I can contact my credit card company and request a CHARGEBACK. Oh, thanks NICK, Just a great idea…. So I said no, give me my money back, they refused, withholding it without any legal reason, we are going to take the $62.25 (cash) out of your deposit, and well if the transaction goes through on your card, you can drive back 1:30h one way to get it or call us and we will try to figure something out…… I said why don’t You give me my deposit back, write down my phone number and if the transaction indeed will not go through give me a call and I will pay for it, because I am pretty sure it won’t fall off (and it never did, transaction was posted see screenshot). But they refused again. Over just $62.25, a large company chose not to take any responsibility. Instead, they pushed the consequences of their own error onto the customer—making it my problem to track the payment, chase down my own money, and potentially deal with my bank through a chargeback if needed. This creates unnecessary hassle and risks my time and credibility, all because they are unwilling to handle their own mistake. You took my money in cash, for no officiate reason You charged me the same amount on my credit card. I need that refund ASAP.
I had a great experience with Vanessa at the Cherry Valley, IL CubeSmart storage center. She was very helpful and kind to me when I moved into my storage unit. I was having a hard time with the access code and Vanessa came out and helped me get everything figured out and showed me where my unit was. 10 out of 10 recommend.

This will be the second time that I had used this location. The location store manager Fred assures to keep the facility and the units spotless! He is spot on! Picking up paper, bags, and other debris that had been thrown on the ground! He even picked up a cookie 🍪 that someone threw out and even took a bite of it! Just kidding he threw it away. The price is reasonable but you need to lock it in. It will fluctuate. Thank you Fred and Cubesmart!
Fred was quick on the process of getting the right storage unit for me. 10 minutes and done. He explained everything and took me to my unit. He has good customer skills which make this a pleasant experience.
