The boss lady Amanda is amazing and honestly made the entire experience such a pleasure. This is the best experience I’ve ever had with a storage company in my entire life. Seriously though, you won’t regret it! Incredible!

Make sure you understand the pricing policy before renting from Extra Space Storage. I didn’t read any reviews before I rented a unit in November and rented a 10x10 for $121 month. Received a notice in the mail a few weeks ago that my unit will be increasing to $221 in March. That’s a $100 increase just after 4 months. Of course they don’t mention that this is an introductory offer for the first 4 months. Then if you read the fine print, which most people don’t it says they can raise the storage fee at any time. I then went on line thru the BBB and they have hundreds of negative reviews across the country, as it appears they are nationwide and customers from across the country all say their rates doubled after 4 months, which they use a term, “bait & switch”. So just be aware when renting a unit here, otherwise the units are clean and easy to access.

This is a newer extra space in Vista. The Manager, Amanda, has been super professional, helpful and friendly both to myself and my wife. The units are new, clean and good sized base on what you need. They have pretty tall ceilings in the storage units and the second story is climate controlled if you are concerned about that. I like the locks they use as they appear more difficult to break, good design. Thank you Extra Space Storage and your stellar manager Amanda!!!

Raised the price of my unit from 141 to 241 in 4 months. When I called to ask why the person said because they dont have any 10×15 units available so they raised the cost. Absolutely disgusting predatory rental practices. They wait till you have all your stuff in there and then significantly increase your rent. Avoid these people at all costs I wish I had researched them prior to getting my stuff in there. On top of that the unit is has no climate control, holes on the side of the unit going to the outside, no light in the unit. I literally have to bring a lantern or flashlight to see anything even in the middle of the day. If I am in the unit for more than 2 minutes the hall light shuts off and its pitch black and I have to go to the hall to trigger the sensor again. Avoid this company at all cost, it will end up costing you far more than what you initially agreed to. I was given no warning of any increase they just did it their emails regarding my payments are non existent only after I called did I get an email for one months payment and the email didnt even have the correct payment and billing dates on it. This company is shady and I will be getting out ASAP. Like I said avoid them at all costs. Oh and good luck attempting to get ahold of anyone at a corporate level, where the local management places the blame of the increases. The chat will just end on you, without speaking to anyone and the phone number is just an automated bot that will not allow you to speak to anyone.

The units are nicely kept, I feel safe going to my unit even at night if I needed to grab something quickly. The two star rating is because they will raise your rate over double after 4 months. According to my conversation with corporate, essentially the rates will never go down. I called and after some back and forth was able to negotiate a more reasonable rate increase. After receiving a second rate increase notice a few months later my husband and I decided that we are going to find a different storage facility. It's too bad because like I said, they have a nice facility but dealing with these rate increases is not a very customer friendly practice. At least we get to keep the lock and key.
